From an early age I wanted to draw and paint. In recent years I have explored the world of photography and digital enhancements and am a student of internationally acclaimed photographer Kurt Weston.
Born in Los Angeles, I attended both Los Angeles and Orange County colleges, taking classes in drawing, painting, basic design and art history along with private fine art instruction.
In 1991, after working over 20 years in aerospace, I started focusing on art. Having a love for travel and history took me to places I thought I’d never see.
Traveling to Europe four times since 1989, I visited the charming sights and museums of Paris, the canals of Venice; castles in Spain and Germany; the magnificent Alps in Switzerland and Austria. Cruising the Mediterranean in 2012, I explored ITALY: Rome, Amalfi, Pompeii; GREECE: Athens and Greek Isles; TURKEY: Ephesus, Istanbul. Exploring cultures, places of worship and ancient structures was an amazing experience and visually inspiring.
Travels to Mexico, Hawaii and Jamaica added festive colors, natural beauty and charm to my paintings and photos.
In New York I was fascinated by skyscrapers, architecture and history. Austin, Texas' 6th Street jazz and blues scene, with its flashing neon lights, added amazing night scenes to my photography.
Lively Hollywood-Los Angeles found unusual characters on the Avenue of the Stars. An open bus tour there provided unusual perspective to my photos. Santa Ana’s small historical homes and gardens were delightful and the Victorian mansions in Williamsport, Pennsylvania took me back in time.
I captured Chicago and San Francisco's amazing structures and architecture in recent photographic series.
From 2004-2013 I was a facilitator in the “Memories in the Making†art program for Alzheimer’s patients. Using watercolor, I assisted ladies with this disease to express their feelings and emotions that were trapped inside, hoping to find distant memories.
I currently serve as a Windows Gallery Director on the Huntington Beach Art League and participate in their board meetings.
My past exhibits include The Showcase Gallery, Costa Mesa; The Huntington Beach Art Center; The Village Edwards Theater, Costa Mesa; Bristol’s Restaurant, Santa Ana; Pero’s Restaurant, Huntington Beach; Santa Ana’s Wilshire Square Neighborhood Secret Gardens Tea and Art Show; Orange County Fair; Borders Bookstore; and The Huntington Beach Central Library Window’s Gallery and Corner Gallery, Huntington Beach City Hall; RIBBA/500 Art Exhibit at Coastline Art Gallery, Newport Beach; 2014 All Media Exhibit at Irvine Fine Arts Center, Irvine, Laguna Beach City Hall.
