Description
Black headed weaver birds are widely distributed across most of Africa south of the Sahara Desert. They are striking with a black face and neck and a dark brown iris that contrasts with its yellow body. In this photo they clung to the top of their cage at the zoo. They are the only birds recorded with the ability to tie knots. They are known for woven spherical nests. This one clung to the top of its cage.
